Solicited Advice

As noted in my crafty resolutions for this year, some changes are brewing here at the blog. I've been thinking about moving from Blogger to WordPress but I'm still on the fence. While the change could be fun (new features and designs) it could also be a pain (a lot of work to set up, new platform to learn, links to past posts won't work, might lose readers).

To move or not to move, that is the question.

Your thoughts and advice are appreciated.

2 features that I LOVE about Blogger that Wordpress can't do unless you buy a membership:
1. Ravelry project status stuff
2. Updates on blogs you follow - I really like the feature that tells you when/what a blog was updated.
3. You can edit CSS & templates to customize your site

Thanks, Perches! So far, the pros of staying are outweighing the pros of moving.

I love your blog as is, and I don't know enough about blogger vs. wordpress to comment. Just an idea - if you are itching to change it up a bit, but want to stay with blogger, you could just change your colors/layout. Then, it would feel new to you, but you wouldn't have to go through the hassle of moving it.

I think you're on to something, Mistress. Thanks!

I'm for the moving to wordpress. I happen to love it, I think it's MAD simple to use (and I'm a moron with this stuff) and it's an absolute breeze to move all the content over.

Just saying. Perches has some very good points, but as I never used that stuff before...I don't miss it.. ;)

Thanks for all the input. I really do like having the Ravelry features and the ability to show updated blogs. The one part I would like to have is the multiple pages for the blog - but I'm not sure that outweighs what I'd be missing.

Thanks, ladies! :)
